Re: Brakes come on randomly
If it's not the ABS then you must have stuck/seized slide pins or stuck calipers or maybe both. Steve I cleaned and lubed all eight slide pins two days ago. That is not the problem. If either the pins or the calipers were stuck/seized , how would they free up and then restick/ reseize without usein...

My brakes would do the same, they would get stuck on for long periods of times, or just slowly release. If you are in a quiet area, apply the brakes and release, can you hear any squeaking or creaking coming from the calipers? The CC has disc brakes all around usually and i found on mine I needed a ...

Got it. The pic of the actuall sub in the truck is dead though, the links not working.
Removing the black trim piece seems to be the key here if you want to get one of these boxes behind the seat.

So my crew has been down in Miami this week since Sunday experiencing warm weather and better gas than NJ. I let my godfather borrow it for a business trip and it rode down on the Amtrak Autotrain. I spoke with him today on the phone and asked how it was doing. He said he didn't think so great. I th...

Re: Ethanol
Yes america is very anti diesel. Wish that would change. The VWs I mention though are us models sold here. The milageis real with our fuels and there's cars exceed our emissions standards. In fact for a few years cali banned diesel sales untill the latest TDI jetta was released whichhas better tailp...

Re: Ethanol
Im sure they are but the VW TDI Truth or Dare has been providing us with plenty of actual mileage from cars with the new cleanest diesel VW has and MPGs in the 60 and 70mpg range. Maybe the american trucks and pickups are seeing issues there but apparently some of the european cars arent maybe?

Re: Optima , Odyssey, Deka, Battery information
This is true... Theres only I think 4 LCD panel manufactures in the world right now. Previously there was only one company at the end making picture tubes for every TV sold. There was one factory in the US and one in china or something. All tubes were made to the manufactures specs and then shipped ...

Re: overhead console wiring for non-crew truck installations
OK Cool. I like the idea of the auto dimming mirror. Those damn visors can go screw, I had that stupid broken cover for the mirror fall on my face one too many times trying to keep the button down for the lights. I finally unplugged the driver side one a few weeks ago, it hit me for the last time ha...

Re: Ethanol
I have a Cali emissions 4.3L in my CC with pre cat and all and my fuel mileage has dropped horribly since some stations here now are putting 15% ethanol in the gas. My GTI used to get 28 miles to the gallon I can barely get 22 in it now. My CC has dropped to 15mpg and goes from full to empty empty i...

Re: Program remote for multiple vehicles
This sounds like a great idea but probably only if the vehicles are not stored in the same location? I could see myself walking out of my garage and all 4 of our cars locking and unlocking at the same time might be a problem lol. Would be nice if the remotes could have a switch on the back to go fro...

Re: overhead console wiring for non-crew truck installations

Re: Pioneer shallow mount sub
That was the thing for me couldnt get it behind the seat of the CC. I tried measuring it out and couldnt get one of these to fit. Maybe the 8 inch model will with modifications. I ended up putting my 12 inch shallow mount into my GTI and say what they want about power, im running it with an Alpine P...

Re: Plain and simple overhead console wiring
So if i want to put an Envoy or Bravada OHC in my crew its basically plug and play? Whats with the wires that go to the radio? If you have an aftermarket radio will that cause any issues?

Re: Optima , Odyssey, Deka, Battery information
I was just in my local Napa the other day and he said his Napa batteries are provided by East Penn (Deka). Looking at his top model deep cycle battery it very closely looks like their Intimidator battery, just says Napa on it.

Driver side O2 sensor replacement. How the heck?
Do I really need to remove my front axle driveshaft to replace this sensor? It seems impossible to get to. When I can get a wrench on it, it wont budge. Even after soaking it with PB Blaster for many times over. So my next option is to remove the front axle drive shaft and then get my O2 socket on t...
