Could it be a frame rub or body rub you are hearing? The frame rub will vibrate things pretty good and can sound horrible. I don't think the tire rubbing against the body or frame would make my truck stutter like it does (although I could be wrong - that tends to happen alot :wink:). It feels much ...

I'm not worried about my current junk tires because my 33's are at the shop waiting to be installed. I'm just worried about that grinding. :?


Does adjusting my torsion bars and adding the front wheel adapters have any chance at fixing this problem - whatever it may be?

I suppose I have to consider all of those things. The only reason I've been using it is because it has been raining on and off for about a week and my tires are pretty bald. Every time I go even slightly uphill from a dead-stop, my tires spin.

Four Wheel Drive Problem

Every time I take a sharp turn while in four wheel drive, it feels like something behind the front wheel is grinding - particularly on the driver's side. Not only can I hear it, but the car actually stutters and slows down while turning. Could this be because my front end is lower than my back end? ...

Anybody tried any of the service manuals on CD (OEM) listed on E-Bay? They claim to be complete with recall and tsb notices. If so are they any good? Wahoo, Congrats!!!!!! Ref the hitch if, you need it to look normal just redrill the brackets attached to the frame. !.5" is all you can expect to still be able to get sockets on there. Thanks! I don't know if anyone has already tried this, but I think it should work. Has anyone had there skidz flares linex'd? I think that it should keep it from cracking, especially if you coated the inside and the outside. I think they can even do it without mixing in the rough rubber(?) chunks. Thoughts...

I think that mechanic has never installed a body lift. A- Do you have the tools to do the job? B- Do you have a friend who can read? If you can do the spring kit, your good. Do this,,, download the Performance accesories install manual. And set down and read it over a few times. Theres nothing to it, really. Im pretty handy with a wrench, but no mechanic. I was worried too, but it was no where near as bad as I thought. Basically...

so I hope the spacers work with those just as they would with the stock ZR5 alloy wheels. :shock: They won't, I am afraid. You can keep the 1.25" spacers for the rear with Cragars. I also gave it a search on Google and it led me to a forum in which a guy said he paid $45 per wheel for powder coating. I think the ZR5 rims would look sick powder coated black I never thought of that! I was planning on buying black wheels - Cragar or Black Rock but I was told that the spacers I bought would not fit unless I used the stock ZR5 rims. How do those Skidz Flares hold up? Will they crack if you're too rough with them (while they're on the vehicle)?

If so, do you think filling the inside with marine buoyancy foam or something of the sort would eliminate that problem?

Front & Rear Spacers

I was told that putting on spacers to widen the stance of the vehicle was a bad idea because they get loose every few hundred miles and need to be re-torqued. Is that true?
(I tried searching through the archives and I couldn't find anything bad about spacers.)
