Bridgestone Revo Tires "C" Rating
I have a 2001 CrewCab w/ 1.25" rear spacers on stock rims and after reading the threads on this topic I have some questions before purchase.
1. C means its rated higher for "work truck" like jobs right? So what's the ride like compared to the "SL" standard load versions?
2. They have an SL rated tire in the 265/70 R15 tire size. How would this fit in our wheel wells? Rub or not? It looks like it's slightly wider, but has the same 29.6" diameter as the C rated flotation size 30X9.5X15".

I've got the C rated Revos on my Jimmy and they're overkill. I'd get the standard rating if I were to do it again. Since you have a pickup you'll probably haul more weight than I do so for you they might be needed.

I have the P-metric Revo's which are SL rated. They have a higher max load than the same size LT-metric which is C rated.

I went to Big10 tire who had four Revo 30X9.5X15's in stock at Noon for $100 less than any other dealer $595 installed w/ warranty (way less than even the Firestone store). I get there after work and they sold them. Now I'm waiting for them to ship from out of state and it just started snowing! I'll get before and after pics w/ my new ebay spacers and Revo tires this weekend. I got the C rated tire b/c unloaded our trucks weigh in around 2 tons and since its a little wide for our rims, I thought the sturdier sidewalls wound be a benefit.

Looks good duglasfur, I wish I would have gotten the 30 x 9.5... but it would have been special order and I wouldn't have gotten the good "sale" price that I got.

30x9.5 on stock wheels should not rub. Actually putting spacers on the front would probably make it rubsnocat1 wrote:tires look good on stock rims. Did you put spacers on front rims to keep from rubbing ?

They're very nice. Just as good a traction as my Geolandars and even better in the wet b/c they clear so much water. I'm only running 35psi and they don't seem all that stiff (C load rated tires). They are great driving over curbs, speed bumps, etc. Quiet too. They don't rub (only have rear 1.25" spacers).
Now the bad: Loaded on the highway the tranny does keep downshifting as soon as you hit a little grade and the RPM's drop. You really don't notice other times. My bro-in-law has a programmer I'm gonna try to borrow and fix. Overall, I'd definitely buy these again.

Snocat, I am very pleased with my Dualer Revo's. They suit my needs very well. Superior rain and snow traction, good highway manners, and good for light off road use (don't take them rock crawling).
duglasfur, Your highway downshifting issue is because you went to a larger diameter tire thus effectively lowering your gear ratio

Yeah, I know. I have the 3.42 stock gears. I just wanted everyone to know that the downshifting problem will be there, but it's not bad for daily driving. With the cruise control on is when you notice it the most.
I only did a big T-bar crank; no lift. But if you look at the adjusters, the right bolt is almost all the way in and the left still has about 1/2 the threads left. I did my lift by measuring the trim height at the front wheel center caps and making it even after turning them in most of the way.
