The trials and tribulations of a cc owner

Post by Ezrollin »

Decided to install my new Sony head unit today. I had noticed a hairline crack in the cluster trim panel and a few missing screws which told me someone had taken it off before. So after removing the remaining screws and the wiring disconnects I carefully lifted the trim out and over the steering column and it broke off in my hand...nice. After some research, I found a gm replacement is over $350...fortunately I found one on ebay will is supposed to be in very good condition for $99 shipped. Just thought I'd share this with you. So far I've replaced the tires, bed cover, rear rotors and pads, cab stop light lens and radio. Not complaining the truck is in very good condition and was a one owner.

The front piece has always been a pain removed over the steering column and are prone to breaking. What year is your truck to know if it has a 1.5 DIN or double din? I changed mine out from 1.5 DIN to double a few years back and still have the original.
