Tightening up the sunvisor?

Post by quickbiker »

Mine is starting to flop down when hitting bumps. Is there a more correct way of tightening it instead of shoving something down the pivot shaft? Older GM's used to have a screw to tighten it. Can't find anything on this one.

The one in my chevy van started drifting down rite before I sold it. I never repaired it but did take it off for inspection, on the back side of the rod there was a spring that applied tension to the pivot point. I had every intension of stopping by the dealer to try and find a replacement spring but just never got around to doing it. If I was in your place I would swing by the dealer and question the part, They will be able to pull up a drawing quicker than you can take it down for inspection. It should be an EZ project once you have the part in hand.

I don't see any spring. I'll try to stop by the dealer I guess, ugh.
