Nice. The 5.3L is a good engine. What is the AFM?

Any mods planned under the hood?

the active fuel management where it shuts down 4 cyl on the highway it doesnt do it much anymore because of the bigger tires it stays in 8 cyl most of the time but ima do the banks ram air intake and maybe a edge programmer

Just a "heads up" on AFM.

It seems to be a small percentage that are doing this.

You guys are dropping like flies. :(
The era of the S10 crew cab is coming to a close.

But that is a very nice truck!

yeah ive done alot of reading on the afm some seem to have problems and some dont i guess u got a good one or a bad one . and it doesnt really work anymore because of the bigger tires it stays in v8 mode 95% of the time and gas millage it around 15 or so for a average

Some have need for fullsize trucks. Some just lose interest . Then there are some who are " Never Say Die " and really are comfortable with NO PAYMENTS like me. I also enjoy my S10 Crew Cab as my hobby. They are somewhat unique and it takes a certain individual mindset to be STUBBORN enough to keep one rolling. 8)

That's how I feel about my k5... Daily driven for 5+ years, broke down I'd say 1/3 of that time at least, abused, terrible on gas, but the ladies rreeaallllyy like the tires and the removable hardtop, plus the late night phone calls in the winter from people that can't drive in snow. Im keeping it street legal and drivable for now, but time will tell... I really miss the cavern like feel to the inside, though. I can't yell into the s10 and hear an echo for the next 12 seconds.

I guess Horsehammerr isn't the only "stubborn" one here. My crew is paid for, taxes are low, insurance is reasonable, mileage is decent, and, most importantly, it does what I want/need it to do. Needless to say I have no short term plans to replace it. Not that I'm so attached to it but I have learned all it's quirks and know what to expect and when which goes a long way to peace of mind while driving it.

If you really got to have it, any V8 can be put in a CC.

When I see new trucks, I think "boy it must be nice not to hear constant creaks and moans and have no mechanical problems." But then I think about how if I got a new truck, I'd probably end up modifying it to the point of constant creaks and moans.

I have so much money in my truck, it's a sin. But it really is a labor of love. I'll probably never get rid of mine - just get another daily driver eventually. The sentimental value far exceeds its monetary value so there would be no point in selling it.

The big thing with me is there is no way a full size truck can go where my little crew can go. Most of the trees are to low and all the trails are to thin. My truck it the perfect size. The best thing would be a Jeep. But my crew does just fine.
