My day was wonderful. I haven't been fishing in more years than I can count. My son now five has never been fishing. Our day was to be spent on the lake fishing. The starter on the boat failed. Fortunately before we launched it, so we parked and did some shoreline fishing. The fishing was poor. No one was getting anything. After a couple hours finally my son caught a crappie. Not a bad fish. About nine inches. His first! That really got things going and we spent some valuable time continuing to try. Low and behold he hooks another fish. This one turned out to be about a 6-7" smallmouth bass. A nice fish and really fought him for quite a while. We decided that this one needed to grow up some more and released it. Five hours and He was the only one of us to catch anything.

It was not a great day for fishing, but now I really do believe... "A bad day fishing is better than any other day."

I didn't get anything wrapped, lit, or fancy. I got something that money can not buy. Priceless and worth everything. A good day.
