Advice on Removing Factory Emblems

Post by BlackDime »

I want to de-emblem my ZR5 and was wondering if anyone else has done this what did you use to get the sticky residue off. A friend of mine used gas on his '06 Ram with good results, however, I was just worried about using gasoline on the paint.

Dental floss (lots of of it), and something like Goo-Gone (any citrus based product works great).

I removed my dealer emblem that way. And have been thinking about removing the emblems on the tail gate. They are a pain to wax around.

I will try that. I knew about the dental floss and will probably give it ago sometime here shortly. The emblems are definitely a pain to wax around but I am actually looking at doing something a little different with aftermarket emblems and fewer of them

Haha, I just removed my sonoma emblem 3 hours ago. I used a rubber spatula and a 'wax and tar remover' of some sort. Worked pretty good. Then I just polished it up, and you can't even tell they were there.

3m makes an adheisive remover that is awesome a lot better than goo gone for bigger projects. I used bother goo gone and 3m when I removed the body molding off of my 91 s10, hands down it worked better and faster
