2 wheel drive low range / front axle lock out

Post by HenryJ »

I have a 12 volt activated vacuum solenoid left over from a failed attempt at a high idle modification.

It could be used as an isolator for the front axle. Would there be any advantage to having a 2wd lowrange?

It can come in handy. There are lots of instances it would be nice, but not particulary super important thing to have.

You can attain 2LO very easily by installing a Posi-Lok kit, engaging 4LO on the X-case...and just not engaging the Posi-Lok cable. I use 2LO all the time off-road! In fact, just about every time I complete a nasty section of trail, I disengage the front axle via the Posi-Lok cable, just to ease the strain on the drivetrain. Works flawlessly!
