2001 Crew Cab on 1997 S10 Chassis

Post by slylark »

I have a very nice 97 S10 with V8, etc. I came across a salvage 01 S10 Crew Cab and started thinking about what it might take to swap the 01 Crew Cab onto my 97 S10 chassis.

Has anyone done this or has seen this done before? I am wondering about body mounts, etc. I would assume I would have to use the entire front clip of the 01.

Thanks

First of all welcome to the site slylark.

Is your 97 an extended cab? I believe the CC uses the same frame as the extended cabs. :? I'm not positive about that, but I think that's the right info.

Its actually a standard cab so I was thinking that I would put a custom bed on if I could fit the CC on the frame.

With a single cab frame, you'd be looking at putting a trunk behind the cab, as you'd only have a foot or two of room. Might be better to lengthen the frame a bit.

I think it would be a whole lot simpler with an extended cab frame.

Daniel, body length is different, but I think the wheelbase is the same. Take a look the next time you get a chance. :)

the Crew and Ext. cabs have the same wheelbase, and use the same frame RAILS, i think, but the rear cab, and front bed mounts are in different locations...
