I know I've seen a few of them safari roof rack basket things with spare tire attachemtns mounted on or over tonneau covers. not sure there's one for our trucks though.

I'd imagine that if it can be mounted on a cap it can be mounted on a hard tonneau

Oh, back seat is reserved for the doggy! She get's more room than me and the wifey, lol. I may look into a hard toni and a rack on top, dunno if a hard toni is going to support the weight of a steel wheel and tire.

Have the dude that is doing your SAS fab you something up real quick that keeps the tire up above your tonneau.

Well, I'm going to wait on it, cause I want to think about it for a while. Seeing what options are out there. I may just wait till I get back and get the truck back, so I can stair at it for a while and figure it out. It's just not jumping at me now.

I doubt weight will be an issue...those hard (fiberglass) tonneau covers can support pretty decent weight.

I don't have a doubt that the Fiberglass version would support the tire....I have one and the wife and kids and I sit and jump on it often...LOL. But the only concern I would have would be the lift arms...I think you'd have to get some much larger/beefier arms on there
