superlift in march, tire questions

So i'm going to do it next month! and i'm pretty set on what i want as far as wheels but have some questions on fit.

i want to run an 18 inch rim but don't know how wide i can go with back spacing. also i want to run 33's but the selection is limited in an 18 inch size. is anyone running 18's? how wide rim and tire? will an 18x10 with a 33x12.5 fit without a BL or fender mods?

Well start with 5 inches of back spaceing. Then get some cut out flares because the 12.50 will be too wide thi out them. You allmost need to cut

to fit a tire that will look good on the truck, I have a body lift and 32's with 4" of back spaceing and the look small i could squeeze a 33x12.50 but will rub of road. hope this helps

dont they make toyo MTs in a 18in rim size? my freind has em on hsi truck and hes happy with them.

there are a lot of 18 inch tires just not many in 33 and less than 12.5's!

what i'm tring to find out is how wide of a 33 could i fit? and what other people are running with the SL 6 only.

i think Superlift recommends a 33X10.50 tire. without cutting or cut-out flares i think that's as big as you dare go without rubbing.

I did the SL 6" K776 kit with 33/10.50-15's, no body lift. Immediately, the fronts rubbed on full turns. So I did the front fender mods as soon as I got some free time. Took about 1.5 hours. Slapped the ZR5 OEM flares back on & drove around like that for a few days till one day I had a full load & found that the rears rubbed at the front of the rear wheelwells. I bit the bullet and got some cutouts after payday 2 weeks later and finished the job.
Moral of the story: If you want 33's and absolutely don't want to do the fender mods, you could probably get away with tires no wider than 10.50" like bwenny sez. Anything wider will definitely rub & shred your expensive new treads on the fender edge.
My advice: Do the fender mods & get cutout flares. It really was quite easy work once I got past the psychological barrier of sawing on a truck I just bought. Even if you don't get it just right, the cutouts would cover up any minor mistakes. Bonus - no rubbing at all, truck stays cleaner & looks mad cool.

Is this truck going to be a street queen (i'm just guessing because of the 18" rims)? no flexing the susp or throwing 2000 lbs in the bed, if you're careful i bet you could get away with the 10.50's but that's your call. you'd just have to take it easy going into steep parking lots
if you want to be sure add the body lift and i would hope 2 more inches would clear those 10.50's.

why did you switch to 12.50's after the cutouts....just beefier?

I have looked at what I think is almost every tire maker and cant find any 33/10.5/18s maybe drop back to a 17 and you may have more luck. dont just look at tire that are 33s look at things like
285/65 QR18

You will still rub with this set up unless you cut or lift it more. Superlift recomends 33x12.50 15 but that is BS

I have 31x10.50 15 and I still had slight rubbing issues until I got the cut out flares. 33x10.50 BFG all terrain T/A KO's are coming soon

thats the 1 I saw also theres nothin it seems but the BFG thats less then 12.5

What about the 2" bl? and how much are the cut out flares and whats it take?

the BFG's look good but i want a little more aggresive, that's why i want width.

First off, where in the heck is Rimrock Arizona? I am pretty familiar with Arizona, I have been all over the state and I have never heard of Rimrock, it must be a small town? What do you plan on doing with your truck? Is it going to be a street queen or do you plan on doing a lot of offroading? Have you considered HenryJ's mystery lift? If your dead set on the Superlift and your deadset on rim and tire size that is equal to 33X12.5 you will need to go with the cut out flares. There is a write up that HenryJ posted on the install, which is an excellent write up and gives you different options. Bubaloo1983 has the cut out flares, you have to check with him for price. link to HJ's write up on skidz cut out flares There is a wealth of information on this forum, just do a little research and use the search option to look for topics on what you want to do and you will find out the pro's and con's. Camp Verde Counts

I only know about Rimrock because of a Marlboro promotion (I collect Zippo lighters) that was in the early nineties and the "western theme". Then the cigarette brand names were forbidden on lighters here in the US and the Japanese and Europe enthusiasts had so many made for there markets that I was unable to afford all the variations. I just concentrate on military, patriotic and police zippos now.

I realize you could have located it if you really wanted to

My only AZ experience was flying military standby and being booted off in Phoenix to spend the night on a bench in the airport.
