wash board dirt roads

Post by malkavian »

Im buying the pieces to do HJ's lift but it will be a while before I get everything. My question is about shocks. Will after market shocks like the bilstiens take care of the harshness you experience on washboard dirt roads ? i would like to be able to go over 15 or 20 mph with out feeling like my truck is going to shake apart.

In my experience that is exactly the key to driving over such textured roads, get up over 15-20mph. a little faster like 25-30 and they smooth right out regardless of the quality of your shocks.

Lowering your air pressure to around 20 psi helps too.
