Busted my rear shaft, time for another Woody!

Busted my rear shaft over the weekend, I've already got my yoke in the mail to Woody! I'm getting a steel shaft this time.

what did you do to break that

i couldnt get mine to blow with 40s

I just got into 4x4's when I got my truck, and had never seen that on a 4x4 rig. I did see it at the 1/4 mile track once during launch. WOW

duct tape maybe?

Wow...that's destroyed alright. And doing that on the drag strip can be scary. That's when you hope you have that drive shaft safety loop installed right because a pole vaulting car is not something to go for a ride in.

I took the hard way around of course. I shoulda waited for a spotter, but I just went. My front got over fine, then as my rear wheel were climbing, they slid the the side and wack! Right down on a rock. I knew there was not much room for error. Oh well, live and learn. I wonder if a steel shaft woulda held up, maybe, dunno. At least the better shaft will be a fraction of what that shaft probably cost at the dealer.

ya, the steel shaft wouldnt of done that. also, the square shafts that the guys run out here are scared of the rocks at all. they are soo strong that when your driveline is on a rock, the square shaft helps roll you off the rock buy pushing against it....and it doesnt even brake
