AC Delco Brakes

Post by Ezrollin »

I was driving the other day and heard the dreaded metal to metal grind that brakes make. Checked the front and the pads looked almost new, so I checked the rear. Looks as if someone had bent the warning tab back. The truck is a one owner with no record of an accident and was well maintained. Anyway, it scored the rotor so I ordered two new AC Delco coated rotors and ceramic pads from Rockauto. It was about $95.00 shipped and only took a few days. I know the Delco rotors and pads are superior to what the local parts stores sell for twice the price.

I have had good luck with the Autozone Gold rotors on the rear. They are coated and hold up well. Just don't take them to a tire shop (Discount Tire), they like to wire wheel the back of the wheels and the rotor to ensure a clean mounting surface. Will take any coating off and then everything starts to rust.
