Swapping radiators from differnt gens...

Post by tommyboys10 »

New here, my first post. Trying to find decent s10 forums are getting harder and harder. I have a 1987 2.8 V6 with a metal radiator that I would like to put into my 96 s10 4.3 5 speed. I hate that plastic radiator i have in it now... My question is, i dont tow and I dont live in hot wheather climates. How many of you have bypassed your oil cooler, and how long has it been since you have been running without it? My second question is, can I use my 1st gen radiator on my second gen s10. Do they both fit in the holes and does the shroud on my second gen fit on the metal radiator? I know the end tanks are higher and lower on the opposite side, but Im shure I can extend something with pipes to make it work.

The short answer is no. The hoses are on the wrong sides for a swap.
