10 bolt 7.625" parts

Post by HenryJ »

All sorts of parts available. 85k miles on this assembly. The pinion shim came apart, but all the pieces are accounted for and no damage was done. I am upgrading to a larger axle assembly, so the parts are up for sale:

3.73:1 gear set $80
Image

Left and right axle shafts. Both axles 28 spline and measure 28 13/16" from the mounting flange to the tip. Both in great shape $40 each (right side of photo)

I have a set of stock front rotors that are in good shape. I think they have only 70k miles on them when they were replaced by slotted rotors. $10 each

The housing is in good shape. If there is something you need make me an offer.

Did this axle have rear disc brakes? If it did can you measure the passenger side axle shaft and tell me the length? I'll probably want to buy it.

Thanks

Yes it did. Do you need a measurement from the mounting flange to the tip? Or another length?

I think it measured 28.5 inches from the back side of the flange.

EDIT: Both axle shafts measure 28 13/16" from the mounting flange to the tip

I used the USPS calculator and it looks like it would be about $22 shipping it parcel post.

All packed up and ready to ship.

Outstanding. I have heard good things about them, yours is another. Glad it is working out for you.
Just curious...what did you pay? Are mine priced right?

I paid 60 shipped but I've seen them all accross the board. I'd say yours are priced well. And yeah they're great...I didn't even ask for a replacement..just told them that what they sent me was bent... they didn't even ask questions just sent another axle.
So, I am having issues with my rear end. there's a noise I'm trying to track down. I've replaced the bearings and a suspect axel to no avail. I'm starting to think I may need to replace the rear end housing itself...(used repair bearings and I think it made the bearing port bigger and bigger somehow...When I changed the axle yesterday the bearing looked to be all the way out against the axle...that'd explain why I was loosing gear oil like there was no tomorrow) Do you still have your housing? what would you let it go for out of curiosity?? I bet shipping would be really expensive, huh? I'm in TX. 76179.

I'll let the housing go CHEAP, but freight will be the killer here. I checked to see what it would cost to ship to you In Ft.Worth, TX 76179. It would need to be shipped to a business address. This would be coming via truck freight. My local yard gets a better price than I do and Kelly says that it would cost about $200 to ship it to you.

You might be better off locally?

There is a ZR2 axle assembly not too far away for $300

I know it's not mentioned in this thread but do you happen to have 3.73 gears for the front available???? I have 3.42's and the only thing available for my rear end around here is 3.73's so I'll need to upgrade the front while I'm at it...

Yes. All boxed up and ready to ship.

It has the bearings on it. You might try bolting up the ring gear and see if you luck out with the correct backlash.
