Re: S10, Blazer, Sonoma, Jimmy Winch Mount Plate

I have seen a few of the winch plates installed. IMHO they are way too low. :2: My approach angle was bad enough with out the winch getting in the way. It is a very slick install and looks clean though. :rock: Here's what I did; http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj269/05blaz/bumper%20build/bumperbu...

My intermittent ABS light was from a broken wire on the passenger side. It was the cable that goes to the wheel speed sensor. It was an obvious failure.

Here is the Canadian version of the tire. http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj269/05blaz/tires026.jpg I have about 40 000kms (25 000 miles) on them and only about half wear. In my 95 grand am the window started to do the same thing. The motor was failing, I waited for it to fail completely . I replaced the motor (not the regulator kit they try and sell you) and everything was fine again. good luck! :D

.......Anyone have a set collecting dust cheap. I'm not a mooch just looking for a great deal. :) I know that I have a 3" set and I think I have a 2" set but, you need a 1.25" set to match up the axles. If your looking to get rid of them, I'll machine them to the width I need. :D It's alway's worth...

My bolts are 8mmx1.25mm. Yours could be different but many people get these sizes confused because they are so close.

8mm=.315" diameter
1.25=.0492" pitch

5/16=.3125" diameter
1/18=.0555" pitch

Good job! The bolt heads are 13mm, 1/2" is slightly smaller (aprox. .012") so that was a good choice. The 3/8 drive was a 6 point (hex shaped) and the 1/2" was a 12 point (many edges). They do make both six and twelve point sockets in different drive sizes, but the key is you got it off.

Removing stripped screws/bolts is not as hard as most people think. The key is to relax and attack it slowly. First make sure you are using the corrrect wrench or socket they are metric so make sure you are not using the standard that is close enough. I also prefer 6 point, I know others will disagr...
