I know I know I kinda jacked my tread but I was also explaining why I did not want or need to put a 5-6 inch lift on my s10. But from what I have read on here most all the suspension lift kits save the SFA swap cause all kind of problems on these little trucks. That is a sweet ZR5 you have there!!! ...

I took my lift off another XJ to put on mine and all was good for about a year. Then out of nowhere death wobble started. So 2 first things to check the track bar and alignment. Well track bar was fine but I replaced the bushings in it just encase. Then had it aligned and wobble was still there. I t...

Not all that crazy. They make offset ball joints for heeps. They're used to help with caster on solid axles. Yep, I think thats what got me to thinking about shims. I would like to see ways to do a 2-3 inch suspension lift without having the problems that come with it. I was under my crew looking a...

Crazy thought!

I was off on one of my crazy brain run amuck sessions last night and started thinking and asking myself. Why could we not make tapered shims for ball joints? It seems to me a good way to elevate some of the stress and binding that a lift creates. Would that work or is it something that I should eras...

Yet again, another way the government is messing things up! I just can't wait till a few more months from now when the derby drivers are asking for their bailout. Just kidding, I really don't think those drivers will be asking for a bailout. Don't want folks to think I'm serious about ...

What ever happened to "for the people by the people"? I have only talked to a couple of people that liked this cash for clunker crap the rest hated the idea of it. Since before Obama we have watched our government throw money at something that only a market correction can fix. This is just another b...

PM me sometime about the XJ. Harlan or Black Mountain ORV park is equal distance for both of us. We don't need to bore these S-10 "ifs" guys with our dribble. We might have to do that once I have a way to trailer my XJ. My parents live in Callalantee ATV trails back yard and I keep meaning to...

Thanks Steve, I wouldn't shock the transmission with synthetic at this point. I'm waiting for some $$$ to come in. Once I get it I think I will take her in to a good trans shop and let them look it over. I have found I couple more concerns and want a shop to check it out. Yesterday picking up my kid...

I did a lot of reading back when I had my Extreme about the G80 because I was beating the crap out of it. I did not buy a bright red Regular cab step bed Extreme just to cruise it!!! Livening in the country has some advantages. I was told by a few friends that if I kept driving sideways that the Gov...

Yep, I can tackle most of it myself. I was already planing on changing everything down to the brake fluid. I might even put some synthetic in the diffs. I always run synthetic mobile 1 in the engines as long as the engine gets along with it. I have a heep XJ that hates it though so it gets dino juic...

She's is an 02 with 102k on it and it is loaded and 1 owner looks great in and out. We gave 8,450 for it out the door. I figure thats a decent deal. There is an 03 Gmc zr5 down the road with 130k and not loaded and they want 10,500 for it. My biggest grip right now is that she is missing the bed cap...
