Glad to hear that you got it setup, and working.

The downshift tables are similar to standard while in Tow/Haul mode (I think I posted screenshots somewhere).

Also the TCC lockup tables are more aggressive, and I can only assume that is why it feels as if it's shifting sooner.

Ultimately exhaust is a preferential decision. I personally don't like the super loud, ultra deep sound. I prefer the quieter more subtle notes. The magnaflow is not nearly as loud as the flowmaster, and depending on the length of the tailpipe it might have a bit of a rasp to it. The 2.2 in my Xtrem...

Well It's now a moot point on the boat. Decided that the Xtreme turbo project was more than enough to drain the bank account at this point. I will however be looking for a nice flatbed car trailer in the spring to tow the Xtreme to nationals in June of next year. I figure that whole setup is going t...

Thought you'de like that.

Any chance you can PM me your suspension and tire setup. Looks decent, and might be something I want to move towards in the future.

Looks good man.....I think you should have some more of the interior sanded and painted like that. Definately looks slick!

Well After some reading, and reviewing details, and all that madness, as well as a post to a boating forum......I'm considering adding a Weight Distributing Hitch to the tow formula. It's a $250 item, and every single person I have talked to that has used them suggests them. Anyone here have any tho...

Yea I know the 60E is notoriously weak....

If it makes it through this season OK, then I might look at putting an 80E in it in the future. Those are fairly inexpensive to build, and are easily 4-5 times as strong.

I'm hoping a big external cooler, and temp gauge will help it live a bit longer.

You might want to look into something like the Summit sway helper springs for the rear. I've also heard of people having problems with Airshocks while towing. The air from the shock that has more weight on it transfers to the shock with less weight, making sway/roll more pronounced. I fixed this pr...

Firm is a subjective word....however IMO you shouldn't "feel" a bang or hit of any sort when it shifts. It should be precise, and quick. A "bang" shift is a bit to "firm" IMO, but it's all in what you like. Ultimately if it doesn't pull timing on the shift then that will net you some large gains in ...

Only thing I can recommend is to never use D while towing. Dumping the stock shocks and the Energy sway bar kit in front. Never use D or never use OD?!?!??! D is overdrive right? :? I believe you want to tow in 3rd. You don't want the TC to lock up when towing. Steve I would think just the o...

Mine bounces a little when you push on it, but the lights are fairly stable when driving around. Maybe the revious owner gusseted it or something :dunno: I can easily see adding a small tab that would go from the bar to the bumper bolt. The tab could slide between the bumper, and the grill, and easi...

Towing with the ZR5

SO I ran across a SUPER deal on a 1985 Bayliner boat. It's 21ft long, and probably weighs in near 4,000lbs. $1,600 Link to the ad for the boat Anyone think I'll have any problems with the ZR5 towing it this season. Assume the truck is bone stock for this year, and the below mods are coming soon. The...

It's supposed to be a TEMPORARY ground. Not a constant ground. If you have a constant ground then you are wiring it in such a manner that it thinks you are holding the switch in. I would start the truck. Touch the wire to ground, then disconnect it. It only needs to be grounded for a second or so to...
