And electric pump might be a possability. Then again I have heard that stock water pumps don't do much above ~3000 RPM. The other...

Forget where I was but somebody mentioned pulling the switch apart and cleaning it up, something about the di-electric grease drying out.

Somebody wish to attempt this? If it works it would save some people some money, a aftermarket switch is around $200.

Snoman002 , is this problem only for 4L60E's made before 1999? Steve Yes, from my understanding it only is a problem in transmissions with a build date of near the end of 99. Unfortunately you never know if the build date of the tranny is anywhere near the build date of the truck. I beleive that it...

The list above shows the common failures for the 4L60E along with the symtoms and the appropriate fixes. If anyone knows of other problems and the correct fix I'm sure HJ can add them to the list, however if you only know the problem or symptom and not how to correct or fix the problem then it can'...

How 'bout the harsh 1-2 shift and bucking between 40 and 55.

Torque converter lockup apply piston problem.

Commonly seen with a P1870, but not always.

Oh, somebody mentioned the axle dosconnect. I have been thinking on how those components would work, they are fairly large and are hardened.

I might have to drag my extra diff out and take a look.

HJ, I like your idea of a electric disconnect, in fact I was trying to think of something similar myself. The only issue I see with your disco design is when connected the "connection point" is only on one side of the bar. That means that when the bar is placed under stress it will place a side load...

And I do regular maintance on the front end parts. Going to a zero offset rim places more than twice the force on the outsid...

Here is what I wrote over at ZR2.com I can't wait to figure this out for my 91. Unfortunatly my sway bar connects to the bottom of the LCA and there is no way to remove it easily. I thought about a center dissconnect but the BIG problem with that is because the mouting points on the LCA are so far o...

If the back blinkers work, you only mention brake lights, then it might be the brake switch.

I may have to do the work shipping thing. I am always hauling ass home to see if something was delivered, and to keep my wife from seeing it first. It sucks when something takes like 2 extra weeks to be delivered. Don't spend to much and start saving up for some balljoints and wheel bearings, those...

I couldn't see any closeups of the sway bar setup, am I missing something? DOH, never mind I found it. There were some good pics there though. I like the comparison of these two shots. I'm guessing that in the first one the stock sway bar is still connected. http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b240/Mu...

WOW, I was just thinking of this last night and wham, here is a post on it. I want to get the 91 out and wheel it when its back up and running, but two open diffs and IFS is just asking for trouble. Judging from muslhed's pics disconnecting the sway bar would make a HUGE difference. Unfortnatly the ...
