Yeah there's such a difference in temps from here to where you are I'm sure your fuel draw will be a bit higher. Sounds like you have need of and use for a Scan Gauge II unit in your vehicle. I sure do like mine!!

Sorry go be so slow on the follow up. Waited for colder weather to check the readings. Engine cold idling, defrost on max, outside temp 12*F= 1.26gph. Engine warm same heater settings and same outside temp= 0.50gph.

Not me! The less ethanol in fuel I have to run the better. I can notice drops in performance and mileage on as little as 10% so I sure ain't gonna try heavier mixes than that! Perhaps Serge has different emissions or other specs on his truck than on ours as he is in France?

Most likely so. E-fan motors generally get draggy due to bearing issues or bearings letting the armature drag on the magnets before they will quit completely which causes the electrical load to go way up thus overheating/blowing the fuse.

Coil sprung 2wd models???? Didn't know they made a 2wd crew cab. I don't think they did. Who knows though? Odds are if you had to replace one rear caliper you'll have to replace the other as well. If you can smell it you should be able to tell which one is sticking by which one is getting hot even when not using the brakes much or at all. Fuel draw with defrost on will depend on speed and usage. I'll try when I get home to give you a value on it at idle. I'm in Vegas right now for Thanksgiving visiting relatives and gettin fat on casino and home-made holiday food.

Don't feel bad about keeping tabs on your MPG's on every tank. I do as well on all my vehicles. I find it is a good way to head off pending trouble as mileage many times will drop well before any noticeable performance changes are noticed. Especially on a daily driver.

While scan gauge does show fuel used etc I think it would have little bearing on your situation as compared to my truck here in KS. I know this will sound simplistic but have you checked your oxygen sensor fuse in the panel under the hood? If it is blown you may have/had shorted heater circuit wires to one or more of the O2 sensors.

Another cause can be a seized/partially seized caliper piston. Buddy of mine just had this experience. Reman caliper--problem solved. I've experienced the collapsed hose thing in the past on another vehicle.

Generally a little blast in the front (fan end) bearing area does the trick. On one vehicle I nursed along a noisy rear bearing for a couple years by drilling a 1/16" hole in the rear so I could regularly oil the rear bearing as it was inaccessible otherwise without dis-assembly of the motor.

Aerosol Break-Free CLP works pretty good on noisy fan motors. I've also used Kroil. Both available at gun shops generally (also online from Brownells.com) and Break-Free can be had at most Wal-Marts.

I have to concur with rlnr. Many times a broken belt in a tire will not show up till the tire is run loaded. Seems like sometimes they have to warm up to shake.

Warning!!!!!! The replacement fix requires the replacement of both the lower manifold and the upper plenum. The problem area starts between the two and replacing one or the other may not fix the problem.

Looks like it would still have a flexibility problem to me. Our engines torque back and forth quite a bit more than people realize under power in forward and reverse. Keep in mind the higher the "hat" on the throttle body the more exaggerated the movement of the engine will be.

You may be experiencing a manifold burn through. There is a weak spot in the plastic manifold where the engine coolant loops around the throttle body rearward of it. I'd still start by checking the integrity of the electrical connectors at the tank sender unit. I know it's not very accessible or fun but I think this is likely where your problem lies with that pesky 452 code.
