Re: "Car" Transmission?
They are not the strongest 1/2 ton transmission but they work. They have been put in Corvettes, Camaros, Vans and Silverados. So I guess technically yes, they are a "car" transmission as the Corvette is a car  . Will it fail when offroading? Perhaps, as can anything else. Add a good tranny cool...

Tire Retread
Picked up a couple rolls of expired tire retread. Used a few wider sections on my snowmobile trailer to ease getting on and off. Some other good uses seem outside stairs for a non slip surface. Anyone think of other uses?

Re: Towing or large payloads with spacers?
Speaking of too much weight in the bed... I think I may have been slightly over. I'm glad I didn't get rid of my overload springs though because I used those as they were bent the wrong way. I have an add a leaf and longer shackles. My drive shaft rubbed on the gas tank skid plate slightly. That had...

Little follow up over time from my full size stops on the front. With no weight in the bed I can jump the truck all I want and no rub. With a 700 lb load... oops. The bigger more aggressive tires still rubbed. It was my fault and I shouldn't have hit the "bump" that fast but didn't see it and was go...

Shudder during acceleration hauling/towing
I searched but couldn't come up with something similar. When towing/hauling, the CC shudders accelerating from a dead stop till 2nd. If the trailer is heavily weighted, it will shudder under normal throttle. If the trailer is light, it will shudder under heavy throttle only. It does not do this with...
