Thanks. How do you think it looks with the body lift? I wasnt so sure about it at first. I really liked the look of them snug up against the rocker panels. Its starting to grow on me though. They certainly help with the handling though!

My friends blazer that I just had repaired had the same issue when i first got it over a year ago. Zero worries on the 2.8 mounts, Dave tells me has been very confident in them on any 4.3L to V8 swap he has done in the past with many many other lowered 2wd trucks. Often they have no issue holding up a 6.0LS motor so they should be fine with my 350. The 2.8 mounts are a much safer, stronger design...

Here are the first two items of the photo variety. Please excuse the crappy video quality as it was shot to send via text message. I will take some more photos Sunday when I pick the motor up. http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w41/xk1llxy0urselfx/Crew%20Cab/20130701_170438_zps2d1b8dd9.jpg Click for...

2002 S10 Vortec V8 Swap Build.
So it starts, I finally came thru with buying a 5.7L Vortec V8 to swap in to my crew. The donor vehicle is a 1997 2wd Chevy C1500 pickup. It was in good shape but the frame rotted out and split, and was horribly repaired so its junk. The owner of the vehicle seemed to keep it fairly clean otherwise ...

Re: What did you do to your Crew today?
Yesterday put a deposit on a 5.7L Vortec V8 out of a 97 1500 pickup. Picking it up Sunday. Also bought the body lift kit, motor mounts and adaptors and a set of Sanderson headers tonight. Let the V8 swap commence!
Maybe I should start a build thread for it?

Re: Front Diff - How robust is it?
If the cable gets stuck locked in, like mine did, you will blow out your CV joints making tight maneuvers. This is why I personally don't recommend doing the bravada solid axle swap unless you plan to only use it for wheeling and loose ground/snow. With both axles spinning together and 4x4 off turni...

Re: What did you do to your Crew today?
Well, didnt really do this stuff today was monday, Got the truck moved over to the Afterhours shop to start getting things together for my engine swap. The truck surprisingly ran fine, maybe because it knows the engine is doomed. Battery was kinda dead from sitting for almost 2 months and the rotors...

Re: _STUCKY's junk
I did not put load equalizers on. They are used if you dont get the special relay. With the special relay I removed the load equalizers because the crappy wire that came out of them broke off anyways. They are a waste of money. Drive was good, got to Joliet around 10PM sat and watched trains for an ...

Alot of LED direct replacements do not work well in lenses made for incandescent bulbs in tail lights. They will be hard to see in bright sunlight, so check it out before you go crazy with it. I tried a few direct replacment bulbs in my old suburban and my old S10 and they were OK at night but durin...

Re: Security system discharging battery
When you press the lock button if the light stays on, does the doors respond with a lock? I wonder if you have a bad lock module not reporting to the computer that its actually locked. I had this problem with my Volkswagen, it turned out to be a cold solder joint in the latch module itself. My frien...

Funny that you use the brakes that way, because thats pretty much how the new ESC stuff on newer cars controls traction on a FWD when a wheel starts to slip. Granted most of them have EDL or some kind of crazy setup. My GTI uses this method for traction control but I often find myself turning it off...

Oh boy. I had a lot of brake nightmares with mine the first few years with slide pins and calipers. I went to napa and bought the loaded eclipse calipers they sell and never looked back. So far I have had zero brake issues since.

Rotten egg smell should be the clue that the main is bad/going, also you should get an SES light with P0420 code set in the computer. When mine went it gave me that, it was not totally clogged but was getting there.

Re: ZR2 front suspension mount swap
I would agree with Stucky and AVTekk on this one. After seeing at the afterhours shop a highrider with a severely cracked frame from the design flaws of the ZR2 IFS suspension on a frame that cant handle it. I wouldn't think rewelding all of that to your CC frame is a good idea. Even if you somehow ...

Would be nice to have one for parts, but with the V8 swap on the horizon, the funds are not there for another at the moment.
