You can flip the axle, but it requires either welding new spring perches on, or buying the rear kit from one of the 5/6" suspension lifts. AAL's gain you usually 2" of height at the most. I actually prefer drilling out the rivets and then popping them off with a chisel. I found it much faster that way. Just make sure you have good drill bits, otherwise it'll take forever. I vote for the AEM brute force. It's a bit more expensive than the K&N but i feel it's worth it. It's not an oiled filter, so there's no issue with over oiling it and gunking up your MAF sensor. It also comes with a 9" filter vs the 6"-ish filter on the K&N. It mounts with bolts to the throttle body...

hmmm... the water pump doesn't bother me... i've never had overheating problems.

The power steering pump though... that might not be good with my 33's. I sometimes have a hard time turning them at slow speeds (like in the parking lot). I think i need to replace it anyways.

The spacers were $50 for the 1.25's and $75 for the 2" ones. The hood I traded with a guy from ZR2USA who was trading his truck in. Got it for $200 plus my old hood (and sweet bug guard, lol)

I would DEFINITELY buy another S-Series.

I've owned two, a 97 non-z blazer and a '00 ZR2 Blazer.

I replaced the original ball joints on my ZR2 at 110k miles... not bad IMO.

My 4x4 has always worked flawlessly, as well as my G80 locker.

are you sure it wasn't the lifters ticking? Did it go away once the truck warmed up?

My lifters started ticking last winter, i ran Castrol Startup oil for one oil change and it went away and hasn't come back since. It's pretty common on the 4.3's

You can buy them from GM for $75. You can get one off of somebody who replaced their bearing and still has the old one sitting around. The sensor bolts into the hub with an allen head bolt. You'll need to take the caliper and rotor off to get to it, but you can just remove the bolt and pull the sensor out. Then remove the rest of the bolts that hold it to the A-arm and unclip it at the frame. Reverse the steps with your old sensor ...

yeah, i tried it the way you did it... except i used a tire iron. Figured there had to be an easier way, so i checked the Chilton's manual.... they suggested the caliper trick.

It's a lot easier to take the nut off by doing it before you pull the brakes off. Just put a brass drift or an allen key through the caliper into the vents on the rotor, which will hold the rotor in place while you pull the nut off.

I used Krylon H2O. It's the only paint i've used that hasn't chipped. I've tried fusion (the plastic paint) and just normal paint, both chipped in no time.

Make sure you get an alignment, even after de-cranking the t-bars.

For softening up the rear ride, count how many leafs you have. You may have an add-a-leaf in there, which can be removed. If not, it might be time to replace the shocks.

Thanks Reed... this is probably one of my favorite mods so far. It was by far the most challenging.

To answer your question, yes and no. I'll probably sell the fairlead mount and winch mount (seperately). Mounting hardware, oil filter bracket, etc will be up to the customer to buy.

Everything works perfectly, drove home an hour and a half last night with no problems. The oil pressure is way more consistent now, it's actually a little higher as well, stays around 42 psi, where before it fluctuated a lot more, and stayed closer to 38 psi. It's all done. There are actually markings on the stock filter bracket that say "in" and "out". Don't get much clearer than that! Ended up mounting it up behind the air filter, i'll have to take the down tube off to change the filter, but other than that, it's definitely much better than what i had!...

The oil filter does not fit on the block on a 4wd s-series. There is not enough clearance with the front drivetrain.

I'm going to install the bracket etc in a few minutes.

Anyone have any idea which line is the "in" and which line is the "out"? Or is there any way to tell for sure?

I actually have hi temp / hi pressure rubber hose i ordered from a company that builds race engines. I bought 50 ft of 3/8" and 10 ft of 1/2" awhile back. Figured it'd work well enough.
