You're second, and from what I see, the only other person who showed any interest, (I think everybody else must have em but us)! So, I will find one and if you are alright with the price I will send it to you

Finally the fella at Scratchy's did the looking and called me. Unfortunately he was apparently letting out a lot of hot air when I first went out there, and did not have the quantity he first indicated. Okie, (Ed), I've got a transfer case shield for $30, (which I will pick up on Friday), and a fron...

Update Tried to phone the fella at Scratchy's yesterday, he was not in and had been at the auto auction boh Thursday and Friday, so I will try to contact him on Monday to see what he's come up with. I did visit a pick and pull type yard this morning, and picked up an aluminum front cover, a little s...

My two cents.... I had an '85 Astro with the 4.3 liter in it that was used as a service truck for years. I ran Mobil 1 in it almost from the get go. I traded it with 260,000+ on the odometer and it still had great compression, (mind you the truck was falling apart around the engine). I religiously c...

All of this is pending my success in finding more. Being the only seemingly 'active' member in my area, and the number of salvage yards near St. Louis, I'm confident that I will find at least a few more sets. At least the front and t-case ones. Ed, you're first up, and no f9k9, I didn't. So does tha...

skid plates head count?

I might have a line on some here in Missouri. Just curious as what level of interest there would be in aluminum skids for our trucks. Cost would only be what they cost me, (and I won't be over paying), plus shipping, if and when I find them. Wondering if anyone else might be in the market, or am I t...

Went to a yard called Scratchy's this afternoon, bought a 12 bolt rear end from him years ago for the price of a 10 bolt. Half ton GMC that it locked at a bout 75 on a bridge over the Missouri river. Damned glad that all that really happened was the bell housing snapped pan to pan, really could have...

Jackpot! :bounce: I had the chance today to check the yard with the 'nancy boy' that didn't want to get his feet muddy, who said he thought they had them, on my way home from work. Unfortunately they only had one set, (front steering and transfer case, no engine shield), out of about 40 S10 and Blaz...

Well this afternoon I stopped at a smaller local yard and searched, no luck. Came home and phoned 3 others. Two said they were sure they had them, but it was too messy and muddy with the recent weather to even look to verify! (Man us midwesterners are real 'nancy boys') I'll keep you posted and make...
