Re: Starting Trouble

Batteries can be fickle things. Your battery can show full charge with a volt meter but under load be far less. I suggest you have a load test done on it. It needs to stay above 10.5 volts under full load for 30 seconds. Less than that you need to replace it.

Been there, done that. I used to get cajoled by my brother for keeping spares of the axles on hand. I told him it was cheaper in the long run because when one went bad it was usually at the most inconvenient time and the truck had to go the next day. Parts houses rarely had them on hand here either.

Re: Front Bench in the crew

While I did it for a different reason, take the console out. It would be easy to put some "fanny padding" where the console was.

Re: ? about my old Hpp3

I have an 01 but don't want to change the programming that's in there via Jesse Bubb. Can the current programming in the computer be maintained and just make changes for tire size etc or perhaps shift points without disturbing what's already programmed in if you know? Walt? Brule? Anybody?

Hey "creepy old lurker"! Glad to see you're still around. Can't speak to your hpp3 situation. Last time I looked up info on them I didn't check to see if v-6 and v-8 would swap as far as programming goes.

Not entirely dependable. Says my 2011 Hyundai is a 1981 model. Gives fairly accurate info as far as production plant and s/n but has other gaps as well.

Re: Cleaning out the truck.

A good price for both units. I like my scan-gauge in my truck so well when I bought my 2011 Accent I bought one for it as well. Wouldn't be without it in either the truck or the car. My old Nissan uses a different system but I found a computer for it on e-bay several years ago and it works great as ...

Still running prolong and non-synthetic oil at 3k interval with both owner and motor happy. From your numbers I'd question the assessment on the sodium as it's only one higher than the averages? :?:

Re: CV shaft question

More likely the internal snap ring is fighting you or has been dislodged from it's groove. Double/triple check. Damage WILL result if it's not engaged properly. Double check on needle bearings is also in order. There is one snap ring right? It was still on when I put the axle partially on. Didn't l...

Re: CV shaft question

I have removed/replaced the RH cv shaft without removal or disconnection of either the hub bearing or the ball joint. It is tight but comes out opposite what you think. You need to crank the steering clear to the right and pop the INSIDE of the cv joint loose from the front differential shaft compr...

JMOP based on experience. Front hub/bearing assy. Noise quits when unloaded as in turns that direction and bumps unloading that wheel. I have replaced numerous front hub bearings due to this exact problem. Could be wrong but I doubt it.

Re: yet another problem......door switch

According to my manual there is a switch that is integral with both the right and left door handles. The left one shows circuits for door handle and dome light and the right one shows circuits for the key buzzer as well as the door handle and dome light. Having replaced a door handle once I think yo...
