The idler arm is mounted on the frame right? That had slight play in it, most of the play is in the steering box. Any way to tighten that up?
What does this truck use in place of a steering dampener?

Wandering
My truck has always wandered a bit, but lately has gotten much worse. Nothing was found wrong during the last inspection 4 months ago, but I didn't notify them of the problem. Nothing seems to be loose in the front suspension. Tires have been rotated and correct pressure. The steering is a little lo...

A couple of codes and questions
Had a code a few weeks ago something to do with the evap system. Hasn't come back since then though. P0300 random misfire. Changed all the plugs and wires today and noticed the two rear passenger plugs maybe were detonating a little. Had some crusty stuff and the tips were buggered up. Haven't had t...

I hooked up the scanner to it today and it said it was running at 175*. There are two sensors right? One for the gauge and one that ecm reads? I took out the truck today and paid attention, the thing warmed up to full temp in a mile and a half. Maybe it is the stat though, the spring could be wore o...

I've never changed the t-stat. I wondered if someone had changed it to a cooler one, but factory gauges are rarely that accurate I thought. More meant for deviations. Its always ran this temperature though. I installed a k&n filter and did some mods to the box a year and a half ago. I did read somet...

p0128 *solved (bad stat)
I've been getting this code for a few weeks now. Truck warms up like normal, its always gotten to the 160* mark in the two years I've had it. I did get a code twice for an evap issue, and once for a random misfire (p0300). Probably due to the I"m guessing still factory plugs and wires. Did half of t...

I know the manual states that, but if they didn't you'd have idiots using it on hilly roads and would burn up quick. I can't see how its harmful to use it on a steady flat road at 70+ mph, but I could be wrong. I'll pick up a cooler. Maybe a deeper pan too. The servo seems to be a pita, and I might ...

Decided to keep the truck and tow the drag car
I just can't seem to get nearly what I want for this truck, so I'm going to keep it and tow my 3500 lb car with it. No trailer brakes makes the rear end real pushy, but what I'm concerned about is the transmission. How will it do? I'm towing about 40 minutes, mostly highway. Starting from a stop up ...

Noise from transmission....
When I put the truck in drive, I hear a slight brushing noise. It changes with the rpms. It doesnt do it in reverse though.
I heard it might be something with line pressure or the valve body? Cant remember exactly. Could it be from gunk?

Grinding noise from transmission?
I hear a grinding noise only when the truck is in drive and I turn the wheel to the right, driving or sitting still. It will sometimes briefly go away on bumps and reappear. It sounds like its coming from the transmission area and only does it in drive, so I assume it is. Why it changes on bumps and...

Installing a track bar?
Is it possible to install a track bar on the rear end? My truck sways a good bit side to side and more when I tow. I think it would be easy to fab up some mounts, has anyone done this?

Constantly hissing, changes tone as I turn the knob. Anyone maybe know right where the problem could be so I'm not hunting for this needle?

Well I'll take a pic tomorrow, I'm also getting my new 700hp engine for it tomorrow. Brakes on a trailer will help when braking, I want to make the truck feel more stable. I was just thinking today about getting a fullsize, but I like this truck, if it was just a little better it'd be perfect. What ...

towing a 3500lb camaro
I want to tow my drag car to the strip. The car weighs 3500 plus the weight of a trailer, I towed another s10 with an extra 500 lbs in it and it sucked!!!! Pushed the truck all over the place, and the tranny was mushy. The truck does need new shocks, I imagine thats a large part of it, any suggestio...

Factory shackle length?
My truck has a bit of a rake to it and I was wondering if it has some longer shackles on it, they are 4 inches bolt center to bolt center. Planning on putting a body lift on it and some 31's.

Re: Looking for more torque
The throttle blade diffuser may help, I'll look at that tomorrow One of my favorite mods, and the best for off idle power and throttle response. :D You don't need to buy a new throttle blade, just modify your stock one. Intake and exhaust mods also make a noticeable difference in power. The ...

Looking for more torque
Id like some more low end torque in my truck. I had an old blazer with the 4.3 and it felt like it had more low end but less top. The truck is completely stock. I want more power right off idle, I dont like to push it. Can this be done without stroking it? I plan on changing the muffler, but keeping...

The problem is in the transfer case. I thought it was the rear due to missing the rear window, so naturally all sounds came through there. I disconnected the front driveshaft and the noise is gone. When I turned it by hand, it was kinda rough and noisy. Might be some chewed up gears? A brand new one...

Well I yanked the truck from the shop, too slow. Anyway the noise went away, so I took it out in the woods, and used the 4x4. When I turned it off and headed down the road, the noise came back, so I put it back into 4 and back to 2 and it went away. So what I'm thinking is the locker has a disengagi...

Lift shackles or blocks?
I'm looking to do a 4 inch lift, 2" body and 2" shackles or blocks. Which are more stable? I know shackles create a lot of flex and are illegal in some states but maybe it doesnt matter on the rear?

Well, I just dropped it off for an inspection to get the real title, so they'll take a look at it, i dont dare to install differentials anyway. Just bought truck, noises in rear
A couple hours of driving after I bought the truck, I started to hear like a grinding noise from the rear. It also clunks and sounds like something is engaging/disengaging. My first thought was a bad locker, but I dont know if it even has one. There is the G80 code listed in the glovebox, not sure i...
