Is your inner structure damaged? If it's not ,you may get away with just replacing the door skin. This takes a specialized tool and a little experience but would probably save you a lot of money in shipping.

I always use Mobil 1 oil and filters. I use K&N when the mobil1 is out of stock and they're just as good and the same price (right at 10.00). The mobil1 filter for our 4.3 is the M1-201.

We sub out a guy at our shop and it saves people hundreds! It makes a huge difference in where the dent is though. If it's on a body line or a sharp dent there's not much they can do. If you post a pic I can give you an idea on if it may work or not.

The abilty to move at high speeds

I am just polling on what CC drivers think about how their trucks handle at high speeds (75mph+). Other than the, "you shouldn't go that fast", "you may hurt someone" speech. Any of you that have driven on any major beltway know what I mean! (This is based on a basicly stock suspension.)

Be careful with your belt moulding (the black strip outside at the base of your glass) it's fragile and the clips will break (learned the hard way) Also, watch your mounting depth. the bolt holds the ring up but not holding the ring closed, you would have to remove the bolt every time to replace the filter because of the other lines nearby. Now I don't, I get what you mean, but the easier the better in my case... I B LAZY :mrgreen:

I got my ball joints replaced Friday and WOW what a difference! I am glad I didn't attemp to do it myself, I watched the guy doing it and those rivets looked like hell to break off. I got lucky and got my shop discount saving me probably a couple hundred bucks!

smell is going to be your best helper on this. All smoke has a different smell from sweet transmision, to musky transmision. It wouldn't hurt to get out and look for leaks before you turn off the engine.

The alpines (SPS-46C2 ; 4x6) are in, not without a little work though. They are too deep to mount on the factory level holes. You have to use one of the supplied brackets. This is my set up for now. As you can see the jack and it's bracket are gone so more room for the box. The box is going away soon though. The 8" MA is blown and obviously an eye sore. I'm going to rebuild one for a 10".

I went ahead and just bought Alpine 4x6 150w peak. I have had great experience with Alpine and got them for $50.00 shipped! Thanks for the help and I'll let you know how they turned out after I install them! 8)

If it's worse in the turns it's your CV boot and hopefully just the boot. Over time the boot will dry rot and fall apart causing the grease to leak out. shocks.com makes you buy all four, a better deal, but I only need the rear two. Like everyone else seems to feel, the OEM were crap so replaced the front already and I only need the back now. THANKS for the heads up though!

74,000. I bought it new with 7 miles in 2003. I have already replaced the rear end in 2005 so I know it's not in there. (blew it out towing an 18 foot trailer with three hot tubs on it) :oops:

As with most undercarriage noises, this I do not believe is a heat shield. When I hit a bump in the road a horrible "rattle" comes from the back right of the truck, but it sounds like a heat shield.
