I ran a resistor in my IAT a few times on my Camaro out in AZ. Basically what it does is trick your PCM into thinking it's a perfect air temp coming into the intake whether it is or not so that timing isn't retarded at all. Time for replacing upper and lower intake manifolds and/or gaskets in our shop time manual is 5.0, I think it was split as 1.9 for the upper and 3.1 for the lower. The plugs on that 5.4 will be a pricey change once needed also...they're around $19 ea...and hopefully the metal sleeve around the base of them won't get out of position or warped either because it's a PITA to remove if they do...and that info came from one of my senior master techs at the dealershi...

Most of the issues I see at my dealership with rusty rotors is rust pitting. In order to machine the rust all the way out you would make the rotors too thin, thereby causing warping upon first use. Your engine is always going to heat up the coolant just after you shut it off because it's not cycling through the radiator when it's not running. Just hop back in the truck, fire it up, and drive normal. Your clutch fan should have kicked in when your started it back up and would probably have stay...

I've seen rotors warped by improper torqueing of the wheels also. But it can also be caused by heat. If the rotors have been machined in the past or have not been replaced in a long time, the heat caused by extended use can warp them. Most decent shops should have specs on the minimum rotor thicknes...

If I remember correctly that was code when my gas cap was loose too. Tightening the cap doesn't make the light go immediately. I think it's something like 5 to 10 clean starts before it goes off.
