I just found the module on GM Parts Direct. Part number 12577412, $305.10 !!!. I think I'll hit a bone yard when the weather gets better and pick one up just in case.

I fixed it!! I found the 4wd module behind the passenger side kick panel and unplugged it. Waited a min and plugged it back in and everything is working again. I'm not sure what caused the problem but I'm glad it didn't cost me anything to get it repaired. :rock:

I drove the S Crew to the store today and found that it is stuck in 4wd high. What are your thoughts? Vacuum switch? It got snow crazy here. I had to help my neighbor cut a path down thru the horse pasture so he cold feed his horse "Thunder" Than the second one hit and covered it in. Another job for tomorow. I would think they would had lubed it. If it was mine I would rig it to a drill motor and spin it for 15 to 20 min. then check to see if the binding went away. If it didn't I would return it.

Check the rivets that hold the drive motor for the power window. Mine started lagging before I did the repair because it was binding.

It's held on by the two screws you mentioned but can stick to the rubber seal. Try a little heat around the edges using a hair drier.

That's a pricey item.!! LMC $189.95. I hate to see what a dealer wants for it. What about the S-10 Warehouse guy on eBay? They have this Bed, I would bet they have the filler neck. You should send them an email. JB weld the holes up until you get your hands on the part if necessary.

Excellent write up. Did you pin point the noise after you pulled the panel? Noise has never irritated me on my '97 or '02. Its been a great pick up so far. 261 HP, lots of pep in the pedal. 16 to 19 maybe 20 MPG if I try and keep it at 2000 RPM and stay off the brake. Lots of room inside.

I would take a close look at the cap and rotor. Make sure it is not cracked/worn and see that both are seated properly. Are the plug wires new? I had our Blazer at the dealer 3 times because it was running rough before I gave up on them and tackled it myself. I changed the plug wires and the problem...

The topper has an switched interior light and the third brake light. I guess thats the reason for all the different connections.

When they installed my A.R.E. they just tapped into the drivers side tail light. The better half is out with the S-10 now or I would go look. I know on the first generation S Series the bolts went into a space between the inner and outer cab. The old school guys were pulling the carpet back and using a metal cutting hole saw or grinder to cut a hole over the bolt so they could expose the threaded end of the bolt. No first hand knowledge but I have read that the The Pickup Truck SubSolution is the way to go for our crews. My Frontier has one under the rear seat but I don't think one will fit under the rear seat of the S-Crew.
