Gas tank shield: re. HJ's question

HJ, Ok....... didn't know the gas tank on my 2002 CC was plastic! No matter to me though now that it is better protected, I had the dealer order and install it, I checked it out tho and it seemed to be very well made. No complaints, it's been awhile, over a year and assuming the tech at the dealer k...

Gas tank shield: re. HJ's question

HJ, never thought of that arising, however up here where I live I am not traveling at any high speeds on rough/unimproved roads so as to throw up rocks or debris very hard, mostly slower speeds picking the right line to take so as not to hit anything or get stuck. So unless a stray rock got wedged b...

RA, not quite sure what you are looking for but I have a composit material dark grey, lft. and rt. top opening box from DELTA that fits in the front of the bed, over the rails, it has worked well for me, I have modded it with brackets for a Hi- lift jack, shovel and crusing axe, it matches my black ...

Gas can/mounting

HJ , I have a basket mounted on the roof rack which I ment when I was talking about rack mounting (need a carrier for the can), front of bed would be nice but I have a Delta box mounted for other gear, sooo the idea of a dismountable carrier for the can on either side of the rear of the bed interest...

Aux. gas can/carry rack

Ok, this is what I am looking to do. I have ordered a "Wedco" steel gas can to carry 2 gal. or so of x-tra gas. I don't need to carry very much for any emergency I may have, 30 miles is probably realistic for this type of situation for me. Question is where to mount a carrier, ( I may have to fab. o...

Trailer wiring

Wamason, that might not be a problem, mabey you could utilize a quick disconnect type of rig, plugs male and female near the end of the wire harness so that you could change it out if need be with a spare flat plug. Might work with a little more thought on the matter, or..mabey you could change out ...

Keeper for trailer wire harness

For Wamason, first , untwist the wire harness off that hitch ball! eventually it will fail you, and I know that you probably don't really like the way it looks anyway! then look again at "Wally world" they have these neat little keepers like a small 11/2x11/2 " box with a non rusting stainless sprin...

Winter/water proofing 4-flat trailer hookup

First.. I don't haul a trailer but once in a blue moon so my reciever sees more duty as a recovery point but I still want to keep the electrical connection in good shape and functioning for whenever that "Blue moon" rises. Up here in the northeast winter is long and nasty on vehicles and related par...
