Re: Official GM service manual

I have updated the link. Torrents were not allowed on another forum i shared this on so one of the mods downloaded it and then uploaded it to google doc's. no danger.

enjoy.

Official GM service manual

I had been looking for a service manual for my new truck for about 2 weeks when I came across a link to a download link for the service manual. I downloaded it and it has been great. the document is 500mb and over 500 pages. here is a link to the manual for download (a torrent program such as bit-to...

Re: new to me 2001

I like plasti dip actually. If applied properly it looks like the vehicle has had a wrap job. plus it protects the paint from UV rays and small rocks, and branches etc. my Jetta TDi has been plasti dipped firebelly orange with glow in the dark powder mixed in. Mars2878 thanks. the blue looks incredi...

Re: Oil Leak

so I took the lower belly pan off. I found this http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l25/shegel/IMG_2428_zpsc57fd9e1.jpg best as I can work out it's dexcool for 1 spot and the 2nd spot is some kind of oil (unsure if it's power steering or motor) so based on that I think that I may be in for a bit of wo...

Oil Leak

I was in my shop last night and i decided to install a battery tender lead since the truck wont be driven much... so i put it in neutral and pushed it back a few feet so i could get at the hood. when i got to the front of the truck there was a small oil spot on the ground. so i grabbed my flashlight...

Re: What are you driving for gas mileage?

Just read this whole thread. It's a great read for someone like me. I have been described as obsessive when it comes to recording mpg. My friends even played a trick on me in highschool a couple years back by adding fuel to my tank to make me think i was getting better mpg then a month later switche...

Re: new to me 2001

Ya Im not feeling the rims but thats a pretty good price for a low mileage truck. I found one once for 8300 with only 32k miles but it was from upstate NY and rust was all other everything. All the good ones are usually over 10k. The wheels will be getting a clear plasti dip coating to make them lo...

Re: new to me 2001

I got it for 8500 which i think is fair considering the shape it is in. it also came with a toneau cover and those 18" wheels (not sure about those yet though)

Re: what kind of oil should i run for best performance and m

I am reviving this old thread because i am going to be doing my 1st oil change soon (this weekend) and want to get off on the right foot. the filler cap says 5w30 but things may have changed since the truck came out. are people running full synthetic? or is that a waste of money? how about diesel oi...

Re: new to me 2001

is there a list of things a new owner should do first off? it's already got a CAI and a flow-master muffler should i get cat-back exhaust or a high flow cat and manifold back exhaust? a tune i think is necessary but who to go with. i read wait4me is a good one but i don't know if i like the idea of ...

new to me 2001

Hello, My name is Steve. Last friday I purchased a 2001 S10 crew cab 4.3 4x4. the truck has 63k on the odometer and is in imaculate shape. As I do with every vehicle I own I joined a relevant forum so I can learn and possibly contribute where I see fit. I had to drive about 500 miles to get it but i...
