Ok - time for some help again, trying to confirm a theory. My HVAC system started acting up - under hard acceleration the system would redirect air out of vents it wasn't selected for, etc. A couple more weeks and the control has stopped working completely. Re: 4L60e question

As someone that is on his 4th 4L60e in the same vehicle, find a good shop that rebuilds on site if you ever need a rebuild. May not be the biggest shop - that was my issue I think. The "big" shop was sourcing remans from somewhere else, stocking them and returning cores. That way all they're doing i...

No- you've echoed all of my thoughts. Even the "non-budgeted" gear change. If I do have 3.73's in the rear - I dunno if I go back to the shop that put the rear end in the truck, cause I don't want to go back to 3.42 with 30" tires. anyone know if Knaffle is still reachable at chris.knaffle@gmail.com? the link at the top of this thread now forwards to zr2usa.com, and to search or look up a member requires you to register, and apparently registration requires that you prove you own a ZR2. I'm not jumping through all those hoops....

my bigger concern is that the noise will come and go. I'm an ex-car stereo shop installer and know most of the methods of fishing noise out of a system, and well, sometimes you just can't get it all. I notice it most with the XM tuner on - it's FM-modulated, but I bought a kit that actually plugs in...

HJ - see how the windings in your alt there are copper-colored? I have noticed that mine are dark, almost black. Is that bad? I also have been thinking I've had alt issue for a while now - noticebly with intermittent motor noise coming through my stereo. It's worse with my XM unit turned on, as I th...

Great pics - I'm planning a Moab trip in August to finally go mountain biking there. It's one of those places that shoud be on every biker's "places you have to ride before you die" list.

found that the local university owes my father in law something - says less than $100, but still - thanks!

What's bad is that the "last known address" listed is where they still live. Tells me the state went to a lot of effort to deliver that one.

I had a girlfriend's car that acted similarly in left hand turns at speed only. turnd out the car had been wrecked and apparently in the rebuild they left a wiring loom loose that had enough stretch to it to touch a metal brace for the Power steering pump - after time it chafed a few wires and was g...

That's not my CC in the gallery - I honestly don't remember whose it was - he couldn't get the images to upload properly, so he emailed them to me and I posted them. I'm pretty sure that is the superlift 6" kit.

2 observations:
1) Might be usable on a CrewCab
2) Where the heck do you find a ZR2 Blazer that is that clean?

pics are relaoded and relinked. Some are slightly more than 100K limit, so HJ might ask me to resize again or hide them.

If you know they are over the forum limit, save me the work and link them please-HJ

Re: Another "LIFT" question

What tire would most of you guys recommend for mainly hwy use? Thanks for all your help! For mainly hwy use, I recommend you keep your truck just the way it is. If you really NEED the height, then go with the tried and true 2" body lift by performance accessories. I echo barch - the Crew doesn't ge...

Well - first - the BL is pretty easy if you are mechanical - if not let the shop do it. Performance Accessories wins the BL question hands down. BL + Shackles or a rear spring swap + torsion bar adjustment and you can fit 31" tires relatively well. If your truck is a 3.42 gear ratio, I would recomme...
