If I remember correctly, when he had it installed didn't he say that the shop that put it on reinforced a lot of the parts and for some of the parts they just made new ones. That would explain why he hasn't had any problems.

It all depends on what you want to do. Bottom line is that the S-10 is not a good platform to build a rig out of. It is a great truck, and has a lot of good qualitys. However, for serious off roading, there are better choices. There are several choices that in their stock form are very trail worthy....

The 231 transfer case is not junk, On the contrary once a slip yoke eliminator is installed it's a pretty tough case. I have had very few problems with mine. Check out this article from Novak Conversions.

I must admit I am a fan of the Mag light too. The only difference is that I like the C-Cell version. The narrow body is alot easier to keep a hold of. I keep 2, 3-Cell lights in my truck. Ok, I filled up this morning, and it took 15.4 gal. At that point milage was 310, so 310 / 15.4 = 20.12. But most of that was at 75- 80 miles an hour.

I drove home from Richmond VA this afternoon. I filled up in Richmond, and 305 miles later rolled into my driveway flat on "E" with the low fuel light stareing at me. Too tired to stop. :lol:

It was interstate all the way tho, not a good benchmark.

I have thought about this myself in the past. Someone told me one time that our front fenders had a simular opening as the early 70's model chevy trucks. And that the Cut outs from Bushwacker might fit. I don't know if this is true, someone will have to goto the mall with a tape measure. :D

i feel it's my turn to say.....yep that 16 wheel over your stock will add an inch right there, putting you at a 30"tire. but then im not sure about that 85 wide. The wheel size has nothing to do with the OD of tire. AZS10Crew said that he did not rub with 30" tires on his truck before he lifted it....

Yes, Thats correct. I can also disable my DRL by pushing my dome override switch. I found it out by mistake one day while working on something else.
