Ahh yeah, shipping costs are not cheap at all. the dimensions of this tonneau cover require a special freight shipment and well above my asking price - 3x to 4x the selling price.

Caliper is no good.
E-brake is good, no dragging there.

Lesson learned here is that I should have inspected the caliper closer when I was changing the slider pins.

couldn't do the right side axle seal until I got my hands on something to pull the axle out & remove the castle nut. that will be tonight's or tomorrow night's project.

Should I do both left & right side axle seals? I figure I should.

One of the slide pins was frozen. After soaking with solvent I could not move the pin. Eventually I located a caliper mounting bracket at an auto parts store. Installed new bracket, new pins, rubber boots & lubricated with high temp grease. Both left & rear side caliper slide pins slide. Problem Sol...

Pulled the brakes apart to grease the slide pins. From what I gather the rear caliper slide pins are attached to the disc brake caliper mounting bracket and this pin has small rubber boot on it. Yes?

I stand corrected on my posting above of "flush".
Did not perform a true flush; I did not do a 100% fluid exchange.

I only did a 5qt addition of fresh fluid with pan drop & filter exchange.

I've dropped the transmission pan, refilled with fresh fluid & replaced the filter each time.

The shift points that I adjusted were very minor -3 or -4 I believe. I never adjusted the shift points in an attempt to remove the searching. My assumption is the higher line pressure in the transmission was the culprit.

I'm puzzled.

I priced out a soft parts rebuild kit, $200 - $300 and quotes from the local transmission shops are, $1000 - $1500 for the rebuild.

Solenoid Valve on the EVAP vent valve is probably the culprit. I recenlty had the same issue and replaced the solenoid valve.

If you're approaching 100k miles pay attention to the fuel pump as a potential issue. My pump died around 120k but it was acting up for quite some time (months). The truck wouldn't start on the first turn of the key. It would turn over on the 2nd turn of the key. I also did exactly what HenryJ sugge...

I'd do a search on the shocks. A few members have installed the Ranchos. I don't recall that many folks installing the Pro Comp. Did you consider the Bilsteins? I personally have the Bilsteins and love them and they have at least 110k miles on them.

Vortec Ignition Problems

I found this article on the web that talks about known issues with the Vortec ignition. It helped give some insight why the CC's distributor cap lasted only ~20k miles. I've started the soak with the Sea Foam; next week I'll be changing the bearings.

What direction is the thread on the axle nuts?

Update: The Powerslot rotors and Hawk pads were not worth the extra $$. I have to replace them already.
I didn't even get 20k out of them. I do tow a lot but I do not ride my brakes.

I'm going back to the NAPA CMX pads & NAPA rotors.
