Re: Mechanic can't find a rear end!

I'm not sure what is going on. They keep telling me the wrong rear end is being delivered. I do have the 3.73 gears. The last time I talked to them they claimed the ZR2 would cause the wheels to rub because of the additional length and something about a sway bar that doesn't go anywhere on my truck....

Re: Mechanic can't find a rear end!

Thank you. I think I have the 3.73 gears, but is there an easy way to find out?

Mechanic can't find a rear end!

Hey guys, I've got a problem with my 2003 ZR5. The rear end went out back in 2007 and I had it replaced. It just went out again two weeks ago and I took it to a different mechanic. The new mechanic says the old mechanic installed a ZR2 rear end and it was wrong. He couldn't believe it lasted 5 years...

Thanks for the replies! My next question is . . . where the heck do I get one of these specialized screws? I guess good ol' duct tape can work for now

Bolt size for oil filter door?

Hello! The last place that changed my oil must have forgotten to tighten the bolt that holds up the door to the oil filter because it is missing :x Does anyone happen to know what size bolt I need to hold the door in place? Thank you.

Did you not at least get the $4000 rebate? I paid $21k and got the ZR5 package, 3.73 gears, AT tires, full size spare, sliding rear window, bed extender, towing package, and locking rear diff as major options with that. The salesman told me to name my price and I did. I was surprised they accepted i...

Well, my 03 CC only has 2900 miles on it, and this has happened twice to me. Took it about 30 seconds to engage properly both times. I will definitely be taking it in to the dealer now.

I've been using 89. Got a free fill up at the dealer and it was 87; the difference was notable. It runs a lot better with the 89.

Thank you Henry. You confirmed my hunch of what was happening, albeit in more technical terms than I could have. :D

Truck rolls after being placed in park?

Excuse me if this is a stupid question, but I have never had this happen with any vehicle I have ever owned (all manual transmissions by the way). Sometimes (I can't detect a pattern) my S-10 CC ZR5 will move slightly either backwards or forwards after I put it in park and make a clicking sound, lik...

Questions about 2" Body Lift

Hello everyone, I am new to the forum and have been lurking for the past couple of days. I drive a 2003 ZR5 and love the truck, except for the body heighth. It looks like a lot of you are using the PA-192 kit, and I wanted to make sure that this kit works because the description of the kit does not ...
