I had a question as to how much play should be between the input and front output shaft so I checked a t case with only 50 000 kms and compared it to this one. This is what I found....

I am running 33x10.5x15 on my blazer with the MML. This bumper has been a ton of work. I gained 3" of ground clearance. 3" of length was eliminated. I measured the departure angle before and after. 29 degrees to 36 degrees. Here is a picture of my blazer. I am running the MML and a RC 2.5". I am level from front to back and side to side. 38" from ground to fender lip on all 4 corners. After the pads are changed a lot of people have this issue. Most people think they did something wrong.

An old mechanic told me to always push it back with a hammer handle or something similar. Glad to hear things are good.

Take the caliper off again and apply the brakes a couple of times. DO NOT PUSH THE PISTON ALL THE WAY OUT! Then try to push it back by hand. It should require a fair bit of force, but it can be done. If you can't budge it, it is time for new calipers.

Did you push the piston back with a C clamp or by hand?

Did you grease the calliper slide pins? Did you use a C-clamp to push the piston back? I just bought new callipers for my blazer because after the new pads it was obvious the callipers were too tight. I never use a c clamp, if you can't push them back manually with a lot of force they are too tight....

4.5 is not perfect. With 33's the tires rub the frame. There are aftermarket steel rims out there too. I don't know what 2wd trucks have for back spacing.

I found this on another site;

"To remove the shaft from the differential carrier, place a block of wood or a brass drift against the tripot housing, then strike it outwards using a hammer. You will have to hit it hard enough to overcome the snapring pressure retaining it."

I had that problem getting the CV out of the diff. I used a brass drift and a 4lb hammer. At the correct angle I was able to pop it free from it's snap ring. The factory idler arm lasted the longest. The moog one lasted 6 months. The AC Delco one just went in. My budy did the one ton and it is holding up really well.

Seeing that the snow is on the ground and I don't have a shop that will fit my blazer I decided to replace the idler with an AC Delco one. I took it in for an alignment and the pitman arm was also bad, so it was replaced. Huge difference! Time will tell if I need to upgrade in the future.

The measurements;

Ground to fender 38"
Center of wheel to fender 22.5"
Ground to the bottom of the front cross member 14"

All the fenders ended up at the same height with in about 1/16". Level looks perfect on the blazer. On a truck a slight rake looks good.

My friend had this problem and it was the pass lock system. His S10 would fire up and die right away.

I wish I could answer that. From what I was told they were from a custom YJ pack. They were only 1/4" thick and fairly soft. I got 2" of lift and only a slightly firmer ride.

You could also check out the walmart authorities if budget is a major factor. I don't know how they will last, but they do have siping for wet traction. I have never heard anything bad about the BFG AT's though, so it may be worth saving a little extra money.

That kit does have a diff drop bracket. It looks like it drops the diff about an inch. It also has shocks and new control arms. Not the old kit at all. I am waiting to hear some reviews.
