From what I've heard McQuay-Norris suspension parts are kind of cheap, meaning that they probably won't last as long as MOOG Problem Solver, Napa Premium, or Power Performance. Did some pricing which includes Pitman arm,Idler arm, inner and outer tie rods from Advance Auto....Moog=$393.94 McQuary-Norris $286.85. Which makes that a $107.09 difference not including taxes. Steering Parts

Has anyone heard of McQuay-Norris steeing parts? Thoughts or opinoins? Comparing prices, Moog being the highest, McQuay-Norris is just above the middle. If their parts are better than OEM I'm happy. Moog is a great product but I think they are a little too proud of them.

I have replaced one item about 8 months ago. It's on the passenger side and bolts to the frame.

steering linkage

I need to replace one maybe two parts in the steering linkage. Driver's side tire wearing on the inside and too much free play in the steering wheel. I have read here that Moog makes better parts than the OEM. Since the truck has 119K on it should I replace it all. If Moog sold the entire parts list...

It's been 4 days now and I am still getting used to the new hinge pins. My arm is so used to pulling harder that I am slamming the door now. I also noticed the window glass seals better now also. I wish I'd done this much sooner. :thumb:

AHH!! Got this project off my to do list today. :) Visiting my mom and step father down here in northern Alabama. I bought the E.S. kit and the sway bar bushings have greaszerts. The nuts for the endlink bolts are the elastic stop nut type so it's null getting an accurate torque reading. Just curious. Do you folks let you trucks/vehicles warm up before you drive them? I have always been told by mechanics, automotive instructors, engine builders etc, etc. that you should allow your vehicles to warm up for at least 5 mins before driving. Especially in cold weather.

I guess I believe in getting my monies worth. Original OEM belt with 118K miles on it. :) 10 years ago I bought a new '98 2.2L Ext. Cab Sonoma. Put over 100K miles on that belt before I changed it. Pushing the envolope on this belt. :shock:

I have said this many times, look for a local spring shop. Copy the pictures and directions from the BSW webpage that I did. Have your local shop build a kit and you will save quite a bit. Ahh, that's a nice tool to have. I don't know about the oil reading system. I haven't read or heard about that for these trucks but you never know. I bet the weather is nicer in Texas about now.

Vacuum lines

I was reading the article about the bad vacuum switch on the TC going bad and you can check the vacuum lines between the brake mc and fender. I didn't see any tran fluid in the lines but the vacuum lines are nearly toast. They are brittle and cracking but just seem to be in that area only. Kinda odd...
